FIRST WORK
April 2021, Performance
Military Trained Artist

A two hour long performance work, exposing my personal dissonance around starting an art practice while having a military past. Visitors were invited to a painting session: as I worked dressed in military uniform, the model – a former soldier of mine – was reclining, nude, on the velvet sofa. Power dynamics were played with, by reversing the traditional painter-model gender roles, and exposing the intimate setting to the visitors' gaze.
